INTRODUCTION

Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker, Architects was established as a professional partnership in 1975 by Darrell Leatham and Kent Krohn, building on a practice that Darrell Leatham, now semi-retired, began in the 1960’s. Amber Van Ocker joined the firm in 1993 and became a partner in 2000. Scott Marshall joined the firm in 1998 and became a partner in 2005. The current partners’ combined professional experience totals over 55 years as principals and associate architects with Boise area architectural firms. During the 40 year history of Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker, the principals have maintained a recognized practice of commercial and institutional architecture and have successfully undertaken projects with construction costs as high as twenty five million dollars. Educational and religious facilities are a major component of Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker’s work. In addition to projects for Boise State University, client school districts include Basin, Boise, Bonneville, Caldwell, Emmett, Fremont, Hansen, Jerome, Kuna, Meridian, Middleton, Minidoka, Nampa, Vallivue and Wilder. Church projects have been successfully completed for Christian churches with Sunday attendance ranging from 200 to 2000. Services range from initial project master planning and programming, through design and construction, to commissioning and post-occupancy evaluations. Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker’s principals and licensed project architects work directly and personally on all phases of firm projects. Building programs, schematic design drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications are prepared by licensed professionals with the competent assistance of directly supervised staff members. Construction administration and supervision of construction on all major projects includes the direct involvement of both the project’s principal in-charge and project architect. Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker’s policy of direct principal involvement insures that the expertise and experience of the principals is directly applied to each project, and that important programming and design concepts are carried through to final construction documents. This has consistently resulted in the highest quality services for the firm’s clients, especially on highly technical and complex projects.

Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker’s staff of twelve includes five licensed Architects. The firm has in-house computer and computer aided drafting facilities and operators and utilizes the Masterspec specifications system. All Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker projects are meticulously managed and reviewed in order to simplify bidding, expedite construction, and assure complete client satisfaction.
