LKV Architects’ staff includes five licensed Architects. The firm has in-house computer-aided drafting facilities, operators, and utilizes the Masterspec specifications system. All LKV projects are meticulously managed and reviewed in order to simplify bidding, expedite construction, and assure complete client satisfaction.

Our Founders
Kent Krohn
Now retired, Kent received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Idaho State University in 1970 and became a registered architect in 1973. Kent devoted countless hours to LKV Architects over the years and now can be found exploring the great outdoors with his wife and dog or traveling to visit the grandkids.
Darrell Leatham (1936-2017)
Darrell graduated with his Architectural degree from Idaho State University in 1959. Darrell was a gifted artist and architect and loved to design, create and build many things. In 1963, at only 27 years old Darrell started his own architectural firm, and it is from this firm that LKV Architects was born, still going strong today.

LKV was established as a professional partnership in 1975 by Darrell Leatham and Kent Krohn, building on a practice that Darrell Leatham began in the 1960s. The founding partners established a firm that was recognized not only for their architectural talents but also for their honesty and commitment to their clients.
Amber Van Ocker joined the firm in 1993 fresh out of college from the University of Idaho and became a partner in 2000. Amber has continued to strive towards the same ideals that Darrell and Kent established – ‘Be true to your Clients and Yourself’ and successful architecture will follow.
LKV Architects welcomed Brook Thornton as a partner in 2014, with fresh ideas and exciting energy. Brook is also a graduate of the University of Idaho. ‘Go Vandals!’ In 2022, LKV added two new partners, Toby Norskog and Ron Polintan.
The offices’ current architects combined professional experience totals over 90 years with Boise area firms. During the 45-year history of LKV Architects, the firm has maintained a recognized practice of commercial and institutional architecture.
Educational and public facilities are a major component of LKV’s work. Our work includes 19 Idaho School District clients, four Oregon School District clients, five Universities/Colleges, and countless projects for the State of Idaho Division of Public Works.
