‘A properly designed educational facility can help teachers teach and student to learn.’ Wayne Thowless, Senior Design Architect – LKV Architects

Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker’s staff of eleven includes four licensed Architects. The firm has in-house computer and computer aided drafting facilities and operators and utilizes the Masterspec specifications system. All Leatham-Krohn-Van Ocker projects are meticulously managed and reviewed in order to simplify bidding, expedite construction, and assure complete client satisfaction.

LKV Architects have been successfully practicing architecture in Idaho for the past four decades. The foundation of our success has been in our commitment to our clients and to our Idaho way of life.

LKV was established as a professional partnership in 1975 by Darrell Leatham and Kent Krohn, building on a practice that Darrell Leatham began in the 1960’s. The founding partners established a firm that was recognized not only for their architectural talents but also for their honesty and commitment to their clients.

Amber Van Ocker joined the firm in 1993 fresh out of college from the University of Idaho and became a partner in 2000. Amber has continued to strive towards the same ideals that Darrell and Kent established – ‘Be true to your Clients and Yourself’ and successful architecture will follow.

LKV Architects welcomed Brook Thornton as a partner in 2014, with fresh ideas and exciting energy. Brook is also a graduate of the University of Idaho. ‘Go Vandals!’

The current partners’ combined professional experience totals over 57 years as principals and associate architects with Boise area firms. During the 42 year history of LKV Architects, the firm has maintained a recognized practice of commercial and institutional architecture.

Educational and public facilities are a major component of LKV’s work.
