LKV Architects provided architectural services on a new 15,000 square foot college facility for the Blue Mountain Community College. This new construction project was one of three new college facilities included in the BMCC 2015 bond and included several campus improvement projects with LKV’s involvement.
The Workforce Training Center created specialized laboratory and instructional spaces for advanced manufacturing programs in computer technology, mechatronics, and engineering. The facility also included an early childhood education program in collaboration with the Port of Morrow Early Learning Center constructed next door. In addition to interactive labs, classrooms for general education courses allow for flexible course offerings for the college as needed for these extended campus facilities.
The building’s exterior was designed with combinations of advanced metal wall assemblies. Some of these features were carried to the interior, and Portland cement stucco accented with aluminum shading devices and reveals.
