Longfellow Elementary

This project both added to and renovated the historic Longfellow Elementary School. The existing building was constructed in 1906 and required extensive HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and ADA upgrades. The existing cafe-a-gymnatorium and (6) portables were replaced with a new elementary building with minimal connection to the original Longfellow Elementary, new off-street parking lots and new site landscaping. The new addition has added general classrooms, library, gymnasium, cafeteria and administration spaces.

The building’s design and exterior is intended to complement the existing historic architecture by using a two-story hip-roof structure and clay masonry.
